A Morning Woven in Pink
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dunia Helwa, transformed Zooga Yoga Café in Dubai into more than just a venue, it became a circle of strength.
Survivors, doctors, media voices, influencers, and purpose-led brands gathered, all dressed in pink, not for a campaign, but for a cause.
The morning unfolded gently. Conversations over coffee turned into meaningful connections. Then the room quieted for the panel discussion led by Majdoleen Khattar, joined by Dr. Tatiana Khoury, a leading breast radiology specialist, and survivor Doaa Ben Faraj.
Dr. Khoury spoke with calm clarity, breaking one of the biggest myths: you don’t have to feel pain to take action. Early detection starts before symptoms. “Mammograms begin at forty, even if you feel perfectly healthy,” she reminded the room. Awareness isn’t fear. It’s prevention.
Then came Doaa’s story.
She didn’t call herself a hero. She didn’t call herself a winner. She simply spoke about showing up, going to work, wearing a wig, putting on makeup, smiling on camera while quietly fighting cancer.
“I didn’t quit,” she said. “Between life and death, you live every moment. If you accept it and move forward, you come out stronger. I am what remains after the storm.”
There were no dramatic pauses. Just truth. And strength.
The morning closed the way it began, together. A grounding yoga session brought everyone back to breath, to stillness, to gratitude. Brands like LG, iHerb, Moiseau, Circadia, Shama Perfumes, Marvella by Rasha Dresses, and BloomingBox stood not just as sponsors, but as partners in purpose.
Through #PinkPowerYoga, Dunia Helwa reaffirmed something simple yet powerful:
awareness saves lives, community heals hearts, and when women stand together, pink becomes power. 💗
